Our responsibility

Euroclear takes its commitments to Environment/Social/Governance (ESG) topics seriously – corporate responsibility is part of our DNA. We have a strong ESG  framework, focused on helping to meet the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. As a Financial Services company, we feel that we have a role to play in helping to create a more equitable and fair society and we strongly encourage our people to become involved in the many initiatives that contribute to this goal.

At Euroclear, we put a strong focus on Diversity & Inclusion. We’re a multinational company, with offices all over the world and over 80 nationalities – 50% of whom are women. We recruit from all walks of life and all kinds of backgrounds. We are strongly in favour of creating an environment that is supportive and inclusive of everyone, no matter what their race, gender, sexual preference or physical or mental ability. We’re really convinced that a company thrives only if it truly appreciates the different skills and perspectives that its people can offer.

The well-being of our people is critical to us. Especially in the context of Covid-19, we are aware that physical and mental stress can sometimes prove overwhelming. That’s why we provide a comprehensive and targeted well-being programme, fosusing on all aspects of a healthy lifestyle. We pay special attention to providing flexible work arrangements and training and development and we are currently looking at how we can adapt our working environment to be fit for the future.

We have been carbon neutral since 2012 and have since introduced Science-based-targets, aiming to reduce our carbon footprint by 36% by 2024, based on our 2014 baseline. In 2018, we banned single use plastic from our offices and we are constantly looking for ways to help tackle climate change, both internally and externally.
