Emeric Laforêt

Mr. Laforêt was appointed independent non-executive Director of Euroclear SA/NV (“ESA”) in June 2019. 

He is a member and Chairperson (subject to regulatory approval) of the Remuneration Committee and a member of the Audit & Compliance Committee of ESA. 

Mr. Laforêt did most of his career in the financial sector, mainly in the Asset Servicing area, between 1994 and 2000 at Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations as Deputy Head of Custody, and between 2000 and 2004 at Crédit Lyonnais as Head of Custody and Depositary Bank. He joined the Crédit Agricole group in 2004 and took different responsibilities within the Executive Committee of CACEIS, such as Mergers & Acquisitions, Products Management and Sales Support, and CACEIS affiliates in Germany, Ireland, North America, United Kingdom and Switzerland. Mr. Laforêt retired in July 2018.

Mr. Laforêt earned a Master of Science in Engineering from Ecole Centrale de Nantes and a Master in Banking Management (CESB degree). He holds the French certification as Companies' Director from Sciences Po & IFA.
