Chris Elms
Chief Executive Officer - Euroclear UK & International
Chris Elms is currently Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Euroclear UK & International. He is Chair of the Euroclear UK & International Management Committee and a member of the Group Executive Committee.
Prior to assuming this role, Mr Elms was Euroclear UK & International Deputy Chief Executive Officer and a member of its Management Committee from October 2020 to August 2022, with responsibility for Public Affairs & Regulatory Relations, Operational Resilience, First Line Financial Crime Prevention, Client Admission and Data Management, and First Line Risk Management.
Mr Elms was Interim Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Euroclear UK & International from August 2019 to October 2020.
Prior to this Mr Elms was Head of the CEO Office responsible for strategic programme delivery and regulatory relations within Euroclear UK & International.
Following university, Mr Elms began his professional career as an Internal Auditor specialising in IT Audit within public and private bodies.
He joined CRESTCo in 1996 and has held a number of senior roles in Euroclear including CRESTCo Head of Internal Audit and Head of Group IT Service Control where he was responsible for the day-to-day delivery of first line IT services to the Group entities (Euroclear Bank, Euroclear UK & International and the ESES CSDs). Following this Group role, Mr Elms became Chief Risk and Compliance Officer for Euroclear’s joint venture with DTCC (DTCC-Euroclear Global Collateral Ltd).
