Euroclear acquires 90% stake in Inversis, expanding its European funds business
Euroclear acquires 90% stake in Inversis
Madrid and Brussels, 1 September 2026 – Euroclear has completed the acquisition of a 90% stake in Inversis from Banca March. Following its initial acquisition of 49% in March 2025, this second transaction brings Euroclear closer to full ownership of the company and marks another important step in the growth of its funds business. The move strengthens Euroclear FundsPlace®, expands Euroclear's presence in Southern Europe and combines Inversis' strong local franchise in funds and investment services with Euroclear's scale, infrastructure and international ecosystem.
The acquisition adds a highly complementary business to Euroclear's funds ecosystem. Building on recent acquisitions and investments, Euroclear continues to expand its end-to-end funds offering and strengthen its position in key European markets. Today, Euroclear FundsPlace operates € 4.6 trillion connecting more than 3,000 distributors and 2,500 asset managers globally, providing access to around 250,000 funds through a standardised and scalable infrastructure.
The combination brings together Inversis' local market knowledge, client proximity and distribution capabilities with Euroclear's global infrastructure, operational resilience and international network. Together, the two organisations are well positioned to support a more connected and efficient European investment ecosystem in line with the objectives of the Savings and Investments Union.
The fund distribution platform is expected to be the first area where the benefits of the combination become visible, through closer integration with the Euroclear FundsPlace ecosystem. Inversis is also expected to benefit from continued investment in technology, operational resilience, cybersecurity and scalability.
Inversis will continue to operate as a distinct entity within the Euroclear Group, maintaining its comprehensive portfolio of investment services, as well as its market presence, strong client relationships and local expertise.
Valérie Urbain, Chief Executive Officer of Euroclear, said: "This transaction is an important milestone in the execution of our funds strategy. Inversis brings a strong local franchise, trusted client relationships and highly complementary capabilities. Together, we are well positioned to support a more connected and efficient European investment ecosystem and create new opportunities for clients, distributors and asset managers across Europe. We are also delighted to welcome our new colleagues from Inversis to the Euroclear Group and look forward to building this next chapter together.”
Alberto del Cid, Chief Executive Officer of Inversis, said: "Joining the Euroclear Group marks an exciting new chapter for Inversis. We remain the same trusted partner for our clients, supported by the same teams, expertise and commitment to service that have defined our success over the past two decades. Clients will benefit from the same service model while gaining access over time to broader connectivity, enhanced distribution opportunities and the scale of Euroclear's international funds ecosystem.”
