Choosing Euroclear for Euronext-traded securities

Whether you are preparing a listing or managing settlement flows, this page explains how to choose a Euroclear Central Securities Depository (CSD) for eligible securities traded on Euronext Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris and where to find the right support.

How the settlement model works

From 21 September 2026, Euronext Securities Milan becomes the default CSD for specified equity trades and euro-denominated exchange-traded products on Euronext Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris. Euroclear Belgium, Euroclear France, Euroclear Nederland and Euroclear Bank remain available as recognised alternative CSDs. This means eligible market participants can continue to settle relevant Euronext transactions through Euroclear.

What this means for you

If you choose a Euroclear CSD, you can continue to use familiar Euroclear settlement and asset-servicing arrangements for eligible transactions. The new model applies only to a defined set of transactions; everything outside that scope continues under the existing settlement arrangements.

What is an alternative CSD?

A Central Securities Depository – or CSD – is the market infrastructure through which securities are issued, held and settled. For the markets and instruments covered by the new model, an alternative CSD is a recognised settlement location you can choose instead of the default. Issuers decide where their securities are issued and held, while market participants decide how eligible trades will settle. The steps you need to take therefore depend on your role.

Why choose Euroclear?

  • Keep familiar processes: continue settling eligible transactions through established Euroclear infrastructure.
  • Combine local knowledge with broad connectivity: benefit from expertise in the Belgian, Dutch and French markets, access to T2S – the European securities settlement platform – and the wider Euroclear network.
  • Get support throughout the securities lifecycle: draw on services covering issuance, settlement, corporate actions and issuer support, depending on the solution you choose.
  • Work with specialists who know your market: get help from issuer, relationship and operational teams with domestic market expertise.
  • Choose the route that works for you: select an issuance or settlement setup that fits your organisation and operating model.
