David Salembier

Director Repo and Financing, BNP Paribas Global Markets APAC

David Salembier began his career in repo trading in Brussels in 2002. In 2007 he relocated to Hong Kong to launch Fortis Bank’s Fixed‑Income Financing desk, building a platform that provided liquidity across a broad spectrum of securities. Following the integration of Fortis’s activities into BNP Paribas in 2010, David moved to Singapore, where he continued to expand the bank’s financing franchise throughout Asia. Since 2017 he has returned to Hong Kong after the bank decided to consolidate financing operations for both Equity and Fixed‑Income across the region. Over his 20‑year career he has covered the full range of fixed‑income assets — from sovereign and corporate bonds to the increasingly important Asian local‑currency markets—delivering innovative funding solutions and supporting the bank’s growth in a rapidly evolving market environment.

David holds a Master in Finance and Investment management at Ehsal in Brussels.
