Chordio Chan

Chief Executive Officer, Treasury Markets Association

Mr Chordio Chan was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Treasury Markets Association (TMA) in October 2022 after his retirement from the Bank of China (Hong Kong).

Mr Chan joined Bank of China (Hong Kong) in 2008 as Head of Investment, overseeing banking book investment and liquidity management, and was also responsible for the bank’s global investment strategies.  His last position at the bank was General Manager and Head of Investment Management.

Prior to that, Mr Chan worked for Citibank (Hong Kong) from 1984 to 2008, starting as an Executive Trainee in the Treasury department and held various positions at Citibank (Hong Kong) over the years, including Head of Capital and Money Market and Head of Risk Treasury where he oversaw interest rate trading and funding activities.

Mr Chan graduated with a bachelor degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He has also obtained a doctorate in Business Administration from City University of Hong Kong.
