Usman Ahmad

Usman Ahmad is a seasoned capital markets and digital assets executive with over 25 years of experience across financial market infrastructure, institutional trading and digital asset markets.
Usman currently serves as Head of Digital Assets at Euroclear, leading the firm's newly established digital assets division and driving initiatives across tokenisation, digital issuance and next-generation settlement infrastructure.
Prior to joining Euroclear, Usman spent eight years building businesses in the digital asset domain, most recently as Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Zodia Markets, where over the course of nearly five years he helped create one of the industry's leading institutional digital asset firms.
Before Zodia Markets, Usman helped scale OSL, one of the world's early regulated and listed digital asset market participants, contributing to the development of institutional-grade digital asset infrastructure and services.
Earlier in his career, Usman spent over 17 years in senior capital markets technology leadership roles at HSBC and Merrill Lynch, working across major asset classes, business functions and international markets. During this period, he led large-scale technology, trading and market infrastructure initiatives that supported the evolution and transformation of these two global financial institutions.
Combining deep expertise in traditional capital markets with hands-on experience building digital asset businesses, Usman is widely recognised for bridging the gap between established financial market infrastructure and next-generation digital finance.
