Stephen O’Donnell, Chief Operating Officer, International Securities Lending Association

Stephen O’Donnell joined ISLA in June 2026 as Chief Operating Officer, supporting the Association’s strategic growth, operational delivery and member engagement across the global securities finance market. He brings more than 20 years’ experience at Tier 1 global financial institutions spanning securities finance, derivatives, collateral and clearing.

Before joining ISLA, Stephen spent 4 years at BNY as Head of Sales & Relationship Management for Global Collateral and Global Clearing, responsible for the EMEA client franchise. Prior to BNY, he spent 16 years at Morgan Stanley across multiple roles, including EMEA COO for Securities Lending and EMEA Head of Sales Strategy for Securities Finance.

Stephen holds a Bachelor of Accounting & Finance (Hons) from the University of Glasgow and graduated from the Securities Industry Institute Executive Leadership Program at The Wharton School in 2026.
