Five quick questions with Anna Maria Lauritsen, our Physical Security Officer
What do you do at work?
I’m part of Euroclear Sweden’s security team – a fantastic group of specialists covering the full spectrum of security and resilience. My focus is on physical security, security culture, and protective security, but also making sure that communication within this area lands well across the organisation. In short: I work both strategically and hands‑on to help create a safe, robust, and aware workplace where security becomes a natural part of everyday life.
What is the best thing about Euroclear Sweden?
The first thing that comes to mind is my colleagues. We’re a lean organisation where everyone is highly skilled in their areas, and that combination creates a culture where we don’t just work together – we do it wholeheartedly, with a genuine willingness to support each other, even when the pace is high. And on top of that, my colleagues are lovely to spend time with both during the working day and at after‑work gatherings.
The company culture at Euroclear Sweden is open and inclusive, which makes it easier to be clear in your role and to grow. I also appreciate the flexibility we’re given when it comes to planning our work – it really helps with balancing everyday life.
What are you most proud of?
I like my slightly nerdy, curious side – whatever the subject may be.
When it comes to work, I think I’m good at building trust with others. I’m genuinely pleased when colleagues are security‑aware and report issues or come with questions and suggestions. It shows that our security culture is alive and that we’re building it together.
What are you less proud of?
I’m sociable and enjoy communicating, but I also have a factual and pragmatic approach, which can sometimes make me come across as a bit blunt or matter‑of‑fact.
What can you bring to Euroclear?
I enjoy my job! I’m engaged, approachable, and I like solving problems.
As a person, I have integrity, and I’m structured and responsible – qualities that fit well in an area where trust and precision are essential.
After many years at the company, I’ve gathered quite a bit of history and internal know‑how. This has turned out to be surprisingly useful – especially when someone asks, “Where can I find that?” or “What is this?” and I actually know the answer, haha.
