In a recent conversation with Srikanth Bendi, Middleware Integration Expert at Euroclear Sweden, we learned more about his role and experiences through five quick questions.
Euroclear Sweden’s IT competence is fundamental to our core business. Our systems handle 590 billion SEK worth of transactions every day, with a 99% uptime. Srikanth Bendi and his colleagues help make this happen.
What do you do at work?
Put simply, my team makes different IT systems communicate and work together. Middleware is what enables data exchange and automation between several services, and my specialty is middleware integration.
What is the best thing about Euroclear Sweden?
Since my degree in computer science, I worked in Mumbai, Bangalore and Gothenburg, before settling with my wife and daughter in Stockholm six years ago. We felt welcome since day one. I have a supportive network at Euroclear, both professionally and personally. We celebrated last Divali at work too – great fun!
What can you bring to Euroclear?
My parents always made sacrifices to give us the best opportunities in life. Once we take on a challenge, we must accept bumps in the road. Our family values have equipped me with motivation, resilience and reliability.
What are you most proud of?
I was the first Indian to take on a prominent role at Euroclear Sweden. I’m proud of our team and how we handle crisis situations. Our job demands a collaborative, cool mindset. I’m also proud of my Swedish drivers’ license!
What are you less proud of?
I can’t say no to people. This frustrates my wife as our weekend plans can get a bit complicated. However, I will never again try Swedish salt licorice – a definite hard no!
