Serving markets responsibly

Having a positive impact on the markets we serve is fundamental to our purpose. As a trusted market infrastructure, long-term sustainability and professional expertise is at the core of our business.
Euroclear group's Corporate Responsibility (CR) mission is to conduct business in an ethical, responsible and sustainable way while giving back to the wider community.
In 2014, we set up the Euroclear Corporate Responsibility Programme to connect our existing CR initiatives across the Euroclear group.
We have worked with Junior Achievement (JA) Europe since 2014 to support future generations of young entrepreneurs and drive economic development. The partnership involves coaching students in business life, sharing experience and knowledge as well as taking part in trade fairs arranged by JA. At the most recent trade fair in Stockholm in February, three volunteers from Euroclear Sweden participated.
In 2013, we kicked off a partnership with the charity Build Africa to support a school and community in rural Uganda. Our efforts focus on improving the lives of children through education and, in so doing, ensure a better future for the whole community.
We are continuously working towards reducing the environmental impact of our day-to-day business. Euroclear became a carbon neutral company in 2012, and we have since reduced our carbon footprint an additional 18%. We have also reduced our overall energy use in our offices as well as cut down the need for business travel through investment in improved video teleconference systems.
We are committed to promoting climate-friendly and resource-efficient solutions, conducting sustainable business, and supporting entrepreneurship to drive economic and social development. We will continue to serve our clients and our markets in a responsible manner while actively creating a long-term sustainable business environment.
This year at Euroclear Sweden is a great example as we decided to support children in Uganda instead of buying Easter eggs for our clients and partners. We see it as a win-win for all of us, promoting healthier living and environmentally-friendly acts that build on a better future for the next generation.
