Board changes see fresh perspectives and improved Group dynamics
Earlier this year Euroclear Finland and Euroclear Sweden Boards elected Lieve Mostrey as new Chairperson. In addition, Susanna Miekk-oja and Björn Börjesson were elected as new Board members. The changes aim to increase synergies at Euroclear group level as well as to foster a dynamic dialogue in close connection to the market.
Ms. Mostrey replaces Frédéric Hannequart as Chairperson of the Euroclear Finland and Euroclear Sweden Boards. In conjunction with this, two new independent Board members were also elected: Susanna Miekk-oja and Björn Börjesson. Both Ms Miekk-oja and Mr Börjesson assume non-executive director positions on both boards, in compliance with the CSDR (Regulation on settlement and Central Securities Depositories).
Broader market representation fostering a dynamic dialogue
“By electing these new members, we are able to better balance the representation of the Swedish and Finnish markets in the respective Euroclear boards. This will undoubtedly foster an even more dynamic dialogue and informed decision making. Their market experience, as well as their wide network of contacts, brings a strategic outside perspective on managing the industry challenges ahead of us”, says Yannic Weber, CEO of Euroclear Sweden and Euroclear Finland.
“In addition to board responsibilities, Susanna Miekk-oja and Björn Börjesson will also be active contributors as members of the Swedish and Finnish Market Advisory Committees (MAC). In this capacity, they will be able to take an industry pulse-check and attain a further understanding of the burning industry issues and the views of the market participants”, he continues.
About the Market Advisory Committees
Euroclear has set up MACs in each country for which it acts as a central securities depository. The MACs are the primary source of consultation between Euroclear and the user community on matters relating to the market, allowing market participants to express their views and needs for specific services.
