In a move to encourage issuers to offer a wider range of Exchange Traded Products in the market, Euroclear Finland has decided to waive the fee for warrant exercise without net value payment. This means that more warrants can now be issued, and if they do not attract investor interest or expire without value, no extra cost to the issuer is incurred.

The number of warrants issued in Euroclear Finland has more than doubled in three years. The issuance process is automated in the Infinity CSD system. This has resulted in improved efficiency and a more streamlined process.

Given that warrants are typically short lifetime instruments for retail investors, a wide range and affordability are important when attracting investors. By abolishing the fee for a warrant expiring with no value, Euroclear Finland aims to support market growth for the benefit of issuers and investors. After a record year in the Finnish capital market, we believe that year 2021 is going to see even more retail investors entering the market and demand for diverse investment instruments increase.

As of 1 February 2021, warrant issuer fees are as follows

• Warrant issuance fee 15.00 EUR

• Activity fee of warrants 0.25 EUR per instruction

• Warrant exercise with net value payment fee 45.00 EUR per

• Warrant exercise without net value payment 0.00 EUR (previously 45.00EUR)
